On drive home in rain from shop the gears seem to help but you cant tell anyything in the rain. I havent started the truck since the chip was installed.

I will post seat of pants opions and pictures of the install later... I got things to do... Go try em....

Does that sound about right?

Auto, I would tell you what it cost but I would be beat up over it. It was MUCH more than I planned.

Sixpipes - I am ready whenever you are....
I will have you and 2 Porshces asses to kick on the 16th.

Very little dry pavement time with mods but I am happy with what I have seen so far, breaking the tires loose at 60 was cool (road was wet)

OK Doug -

The first time you get up to the line, drive through the waterbox without heating up the tires, stage early so that all of the water from the tires puddles up underneath your F-1s, powerbrake to 2,000 rpms and wait till you see the green light before you slam the pedal to the floor. Trust me on this...... it is a very well-guarded secret from the Scalded-Ape Racing Team or something.

 

Duh Ok - sounds good thanks for the pointers....

Sad thing is I could follow your suggestion and still beat most of the imports that do just what you describe at the track.

Hoping the streets dry this afternoon so I can go for a run.... Now I JUST NEEED A FILTER - ANYONE LISTENING ????

I have been waiting since March for a product that isnt supposed to be backordered that long.... The check was cashed 3 weeks ago...... I thought I had some Porsches to embarass this weekend so I called Mike from Superchips on Tues Night at 7pm he called me back 10 minutes later. And I had his chip in my hand on Thursday. I am going to test both chips - Keep the best one and sell the other on the classified ....

I am still waiting patiently ( yeah right ) for Sals filter as well. But I have to be careful cause if I bitch I will be accused of whining about a mere 3 month wait...

I think the reason my truck is so slow is the weight of all those Ford Racing caps I have been hauling around.

I'm in for the 16th. Doug, I think you might have fared better on Sal's chip if you had ordered it separately from the filter. My filter (ordered 3-17) still hasn't arrived, but I received my chip 9 days after I ordered it. Been just as wet here, but from what little I've been able to try it so far I'm pretty pleased.

 

Sounds Great guys - Really looking forward to going to the track next Friday. Heres hoping we have dry weather. I guess hoping it will be cool is asking too much..

Nice job with the photos. Very detailed. Great job!!! I bet you would'nt of done it if it was'nt raining.
Did you drive her w/ just the gears installed? Could you tell a big diff? Let us know what you think.

Went to Kennedale last weekend and was out ran by a 99 chev EX cab. (sleeper)
he took me by half a ten.
He had 4.10's, chip,pullys,slicks and o-ya a shot of juice. 100 shot I think. I think I would of takin him in the 1/4. My trap speed was faster than his.
O-ya get this his reaction time was something else it was .000 I think he got scared. Would that be a red or yellow light?
Needless to say he caught me off gaurd.

I wouldnt concentrate on the gears. The Value per dollar is not very high. I will give you all the details when we meet next Friday.

I would concentrate on a good intake system and the right chip. Once you have that then you will need to keep the tires from spinning. The other things I am looking at are getting rid of the crank driven radiator fan and adding electric fans for intercooler and transmission.

The rain gave me plenty of time to take the pictures. Still waiting for dry roads to do some mod testing. Thinking of heading out now .... Page me at 888-468-5314 if you are going to be out and around
