Post Question On Selecting A Nitrous Kit For The New L's?

I am looking into putting a Nitrous Kit on my new Lightning. I am new to Nitrous systems so I need some info. Which kit should I go with? I was looking at the sneaky pete system. I like this system because I can hide the bottle and it seems to be a lot cheaper than the 10 pound systems. I plan to install a purge system as well. Does the Nitrous kits come with everything that I need to install the kit? Any other info you could give me would be greatly appricated. Thanks, HANKFAN

Aren't you the guy who just asked:
I would like your point of view on how well the lightning motors are built? I am fairly easy on my truck but occasionaly I hit WOT at red lights racing unsuspected cobra's, vetts and such. My question is are these motors made to be run hard occasionaly? Does hitting WOT occasionaly put a real strain on these motors?

If you're asking questions like that, Should you be considering a nitrous system?

SilverBullet,

Thats exactly why I asked that question. I knew some people are against Nitrous on a blown motor so I was looking for a general response on how well the new lightning motors were built. Actually I plan to install the Nitrous kit for looks more than anything else. I will occasionaly use the No2 but I won't use it very often. I have a 94 Lightning that I take to the track so I really don't have a reason to use the Nitrous on the New Lightning very often.

Thumbs up

HANKFAN,

I have a NOS kit on my 2000 Lightning. If you would like to E-mail me directly, I’ll be glad to share my experiences with it so far.

It involves a lot more than just putting the kit on and spraying the **** out of it. There are several other things that should be done to enhance the performance and reliability of any NOS application, not to mention damaging the engine.

My E-mail address is mjb1206@bellsouth.net

I too would like to know as well. Maybe afew L owners who have NO2 should start a page, and input what they have done. So we can learen what to, and not to do. I to have thought about NO2, but am shy do, do to some friends that was not so good at it. Afew DOA motors. latter
