I don't really see what the big deal is? You tried to make a used product work with another product that weren't designed to be used together and it didn't work out? Yah my JLP box was cheaply made as well, but 185 for that or 170 for a JDM air filter? doesn't seem like such a bad deal then...

I don't think there were any comments about the parts not working together...simply an observation about the quality of the airbox. And from the sounds of it it's not an isolated case or one or two that slipped through 'quality control'.

And if you know where to look you can create your own CAI kit (filter, billet adapter, hanger, etc.) for about $75.

UMMMM ok. Let's try it again. There is no complaint about the products not working together. The complaint is the construction of the box because when i took it out.......it wasn't a box anymore.

If you have a JLP box, take it out and look at how they are "welded". It's a joke really. That's my complaint.

My other complaint is that the PCV hose doesn't line up with an REM smooth intake.

I can't make it any simpler than that so for those that understood me, i'm done. For those who didn't, there's no use, your beyond help

Hey Lurker, is JL going to replace our boxes???

Good question, you should call and find out. I've never dealt with JL so I have no insight.

Good stuff. Funny as hell considering who you're posting to.

I have never heard of this issue to be honest, but it's definetely too short. Stock blower, stock plenum. I don't think an accufab t/b would make a difference.

It is too bad JLP won't take some time to comment in this thread for someone has surely brought it to his attention. Like most people, I bought his CAI on looks and was disappointed in the quality.

haha

Ok morons,

I am not complaining that I want a new box from JL. It's a couple years old and i've already altered it for what I need. I don't expect JL to do anything about it, not would I ask him to. If i just bought the thing it would be a different story.

I was simply pointing out how bad the construction of the unit is. Obviously, i'm not the only one that noticed it and/or has had a problem with it.

I don't know what the deal is with the REM tube. I'm sure if I wanted to heat the pcv hose and bend it I could make it fit but my point is I shouldn't have to customize it.

People feathers sure do get rufflled when there's a complaint about a vendor and it's not JDM

So the point of the thread isn't to provide feedback to improve the product or show that feedback was communicated to the vendor and ignored,, it was just to discourage others from buying a product from a vendor?

How is that not bashing?

Let's turn it around, what if it was a JDM product? What would the cheerleaders say then???

And who's a moron?

it's not bashing

because i didn't come on here and criticize JL personally, or his buisness. I simply stated that the box in not constructed in a manner you would expect for what it cost. Maybe even bring it to his attention as a quality control issue so he can better his product.

Shake them pom poms hunny.
