SS Brake Lines
SS Brake Lines
Anyone know of a vendor that sells SS brake lines with the proper mounting brackets?
I recently purchased a set that requires drilling (and tapping) in to the frame area near the OEM mount and then I need to fab a holder for the A-frame to keep the line from moving. Not that this is tough but I feel like with all the F-150's made someone has got to have a kit that is a true bolt on.
I thought I bought a complete kit and now I am thinking I'll send it back and by one that doesn't require the above mod's.

The kit from LightningBrakePerformance is not a true "bolt-on".
You will have to drill & tap the frame for the hard line / SS line coupler.
My Lightning had a retainer on the A-Arm for the factory line - they give you a clip for using the same mounting point with the SS lines.
Overall, a good kit - I just wish they had the brackets like the factory ones for the hard line / SS line coupler.
Not hard to do, just a pain - you will need an angle head drill to get in there to tap the frame for the replacement bracket.
I've installed / helped install 3 of these kits - 2 '04 L's, 1 '01 L - all were the same...
