Question Who is leasing a Lightning?

Who is leasing their Lightning? Is it expensive? Is it better to just buy one out right?

Is there any way to get the payments under $400 a month with a good down payment?

Thanks for any help.

the way these things hold their value you are better off to buy one.I paid sticker $31,400.I put 5000 down.my payment is 559 a month. If you leased it with $5000 down,You would be around $400 or $500 for (2) years a month for 3 years.I think to lease one at sticker is $650 a month. Then knock off aprox $40 a month per $1000 down.(LEASE ONLY) To buy Knock off about $23 a month per $1000 Both are around 9.9 This is (fords) best interest rate for lightnigns.

Cool

Actually my credit union calls it advantage pay, I get up to 18k a year. My term is for three years with option to buy for a balance of 15k. My payment is 667 which includes disability ins and taxes for the L. I like it because it gives me options unlike conventional loan. The title is in my name just like regular loan and the truck is mine to do whatever I please. Whichever a person gets loan or lease, you dont really own the vehicle until it is paid off. The only people that truly own a vehicle are the ones who have no pymts when they buy it!
my two cents!

I know with a leased car you can write it off at the end of the year if you are working for yourself (as a business expensive) Does anyone know if you can do that if you buy the car?

Thanks

John

When buying, my wife and I write off mileage for her business car. Our accountant suggests we keep a log book, but I figure we can make one if needed.
I did check into leasing my L and found I could lease for 3 years at around $4or500 or purchase for $550 for 6yrs.. In the long run, I would rather own my SVT vehicle. It has already appreciated in value since I bought it.

You can, but it works much differently than a lease write off (which I do). With a lease each year your write off is the same (all other things being equall, namely personal/business use %). If you buy it the write off changes year to year. I don't have the info in front of me but it is something like 20% first year, 30% second, then 20%, then 10%, then 5% for however long you use it. There are also penalties for using a "luxury" car for business (IRS considers the L a luxury car), but they are reletively small in a lease. With a purchase they set a limit to how much you can depreciate the vehicle, which will cut your deduction in half (aprox.) the first year. There are more advantages to leasing for a deduction if you can't pay cash for it. With the lease you deduct interest since it's part of your payment, but a purchase is based on market value, not what you pay with finance charges added. Bottom line, if you can't pay cash and you want to write it off - lease it. At the end of my lease it will no longer be a luxury car since it's value will be lower, then I won't get the penalty when I buy it.

Thumbs up

"A" plan lease here...

500 a month, nothing down, 3 year, 15k miles a year. buy out at lease end for 14.7k or something

I'll buy it out at the end, on a 4 year buy, just to lower the payments, I know, 7 years to pay off the L, but i have way to many toys!

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

I own a business and I decided to buy my 1999 f150 lariat. I can write off the interest part of my payment, not the whole payment as it would be on a lease.

I bought my L on a home equity loan. Tax deductable!!!
