Does anyone use those "water blades" aka squeegee to clean water off their trucks? How are they? Also, how does one clean their engine correctly? Thanks for any info.

I have always used a chamois, but I have seen a towel called the "Absorber" and am very impressed. It is the same size (maybe a little larger) than a chamois but can hold twice the water. Those blades sound good in theory, but I would worry that they might scratch the paint. My $.02.

SVTDAVE,
Engine cleaning;
I use "STEAM" No not the the steam your thinking about. It's made my Gunk, and that's the name it has on their product, big lettering on the can. Bouhht it from Kragen auto parts, the reason I like it is because it is SAFE for all paints, unlike the regular Gunk products. Warm your engine for 5 minutes, Not too hot! no longer than 5 minutes. cover the air filter, if exposed and any other electrical areas like the fuse box, and ignition system w/ small plastic bags, use tape so the water doesn't blow them off when washing. Spray the entire engine compartment including the underside of hood and fenderwells. Let sit for 5 minutes, if it's windy lower the hood down so the stuff doesn't dry. Then wash off, I like to use the sprayers at the self cleaning car washers. don't use direct pressure on the engine or any other components. Start from the "top" and work your way down. Start engine let idle for 10 minutes and your done.
Good luck.
