Now let's see.... The Lightning has factory Platinum plugs that will last for 100,000 miles. Has anyone ever heard of a Lightning or a '97 and up F 150, for that matter, that ever had a miss because of a worn plug? Coil packs, yes - plugs, no! Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I don't know, perhaps that is for normal everyday driving, if you want the very best ET right down to the last 00x of a sec,

new plugs ... BUT you make a great point.

That is why I read this site, I get all sides and learn alot, and so far have NOT wasted any $$$.

Speaking of Plat Plugs, Nitrous and X-tra boost guys beware.
Run as far away from platinums as possible, if you are running nitrous.

Question Calling dorgun1

dorgun1
You mentioned in the other post to change plugs to Bosch 4 at 30,000 miles. Is this what Mike has suggested? A while back I called Bosch and they had no plug for our engine and had no plans to make one specifically for the 5.4 S/C. I'm just wondering if you have a part number for them?

Thanks

Yes that what Mike told me this AM,
as I have only 10,000 on my BOLT I put it away for reference. Perhaps you can contact Mike and find out what he is talking about.

Sorry,
I don't have the exact answer at this time.

Exclamation

I guess the point of this question was to be able to get a better plug for performance. Maybe some don't thinik that the +4's are better, to each their own. It seems as if most people would try to get the most performance for their $$$$$$$$. Even if the plugs we have are plat., doesn't meen the are the best plug for performance, but maybe longevity--100,000 miles. If this was the case, we all would have bought just a K&N flat panel filter with their "million mile warranty" instead of something like an Airraid or Sal's setup.
