Angry What a moron

I am. Took the truck over to Germanson's yesterday to have the 4.10s installed. I knew there was an issue with the shims, but I thought I had read that the stock shims worked, and it didn't seem to raise any red flags with Germanson. So I'm waiting for the call that my truck is ready, and when it comes, it is to tell me that they can't get the shims, and truck won't be done until tomorrow. Finally I get a call late this afternoon saying they can't find the shims, and they will put the truck back together the way it was, tomorrow morning. Bummer. So, I know a lot of you on this board installed the 4.10 gears; where did you obtain the shim kits? Desperate in Ventura.

Addendum: Did a search trying to locate others on this board who have installed the 4.10s, and the only one I could find was Jigawatt, and he said that the stock shims worked for him, and he also used Precision gears. So, I don't know what the heck to think. Really hoping to get some feedback from other 4.10 users.

Dog...I believe you are mistaken...morons are not allowed to purchase L's says in rule book. Just joking and sorry to hear about your problem. Sure you will get it taken care of soon. Can't wait to read posts on your new mods. Kevin

I have the shims if you want them. I will send them to you for $0.00, just give me your address. I did not need them but I ordered them anyways before hand. I know how you feel. My # is 512-633-4132. How much are they charging for the install?

Thank you very much, Shane. I left a message with my address on your voice mail, but in case you read this sooner my address is:

George Vye
10388 Boulder Court
Ventura, CA 93004

And I certainly would be very happy to reimburse you for all of your costs involved in this. Thanks again.

P.S. How do you like your 4.10s, now that you have them installed?
