Need help with XCAL2

Hey guys, I have a XCAL2 I got last year from Chris Johnson when he came to Houston. He tuned the truck to great results. I now have a ftvb I want to put in but the trans has the line presure increased. I cant modify the tune from the xcal2 or p.c. I am being told I have to get the truck retuned. I dont want to have to do this, I like the tune just fine. Any way around this? Anyone in the Houston area suggest a tuner? I have been very frustrated with the xcal2 and its "adjustability". Thanks for your help!

Mike,

You can use LiveLink software that came with the Xcal2 to adjust your line pressure. If you can't figure out how, try PSI motorsports.

LiveLink is only for datalogging - I think you're referencing LiveLoad, but that only works for *.ll3 files of your existing tune - if you have no .ll3 file, you won't be adjusting unless the tune already on the XC-2 is already in .ll3 format.

Might have to get it retuned, sad to say.

There's two ways to do it. You can get the .xtr file of your tune from JMS and then open it using the Xtreme software (from the SCT site). Then you can adjust it on your PC and load the adjusted tune to your Xcal. Or, you can get the .ll3 version of your tune from JMS, and then update your Xcal with the latest LiveLoad software, and that will give you the ability to adjust the tune parameters using the tool itself (no PC).

Yep, I meant extreme tune, not livelink. Your tuner should have given you the .xtr files - if not, request them.

Mike,

There are two types of files associated with the Xcal2 - the "ll3" files and the "xtr" files. The "ll3" files are the ones that directly load up into your Xcal2 and then your ECM. The "xtr" files are the ones you can manipulate in the Extreme Tune program that should have come with your unit - if not, download it from the SCT website.

Your tuner should freely give you the xtr files if you ask.
