I understand your concern.
Think about it this way. There are many other chip makers and air intake makers. You have plenty to choose from. The reason you want sals so bad is because it is the best right??.If not then buy another. If so realize this,Sals is doing us a favor by making the best chip and intake.Sometimes you have to wait for the best.I know it is agrevating but there is nothing you can say or do to change how fast you are going to get them. Also,This is part time for him.He has a family to support and he does it by being a tech. Also remember this.say his chips are 350 a piece,After buying the chips, equipment, time, and agrevation how much do you think he is making.More so with the intakes.Basic buisness rule is 50% profit.he will probally sell only 300-500 air intakes/chips a year due to the limited amount of Lightnings ,and advertising he
does. that is not enough to support a family.I know its tuff but,Just wait or buy someone elses.

Hey Sal how about posting some wait times on your website? If you know you'll have to wait 3 months vs not knowing and waiting 3 mos.. = professionalism.
If you buy from Sal enough has been posted about Sals slow, very slow service. Is it worth the wait? Some say yes and some would say no... And I have to side with MAD after reading a recent post from Sal about a Swanson Chipped truck being slow for the mod's he listed with a 13.5 .. According to some owners of your chip not everyone is below a 13.5 with your chip and filter F1's or not.

Hey how long does it take to burn a chip when the program is already done? (Minutes)

One other point: There is only so much you can do with timing, fuel curve and shift firmness to go faster.. No chip can raise your boost or do anything to make your engine breath better period. They can make better use of whats available and thats the limit for everyone.. So could LightningQuick be right is SuperChips worse than Sal? Is Swanson Better then the Both of them? It depends on who has more timing and the hottest fuel curve. You have what you have and the best a chip can do is use whats there.. I think more should be done to see why a truck is slow compared to others, MAF, O2 sensor, plugs, fuel pressure ect.. th

As far as the filter thing goes.. If the pictures I have seen of the AirRaid and Sal's filter do they draw air from under the hood? If so why? On the dyno with the hood open what are your under hood temps vs hood closed under load? Maybe the intake air temp doesnt matter as much with the factory intercooler..

I have been posting here for a while and by all means correct me if I am wrong but I have yet to see anyone with Sals products say *It was not worth the wait* If you are in so much of a hurry search your options, I don't see Sal or anyone else holding a gun to ANYONES head saying, *This is your only choice*......

By no means am I trying to bad mouth Sal as I've heard he is a super guy and makes some great products. The simple truth is that Sal needs to get some help for his business and needs to take some time to answer his customers e-mail requests.

Sal

I know that your busy and do have a day job, but honestly there is nothing worse than ignoring a customer and making them wonder. In all my life I have always seen how important customer service is to people and yours is not up to par. You admit that you are lacking the time you need to fill orders, but you decline to get some help from friends or actually hire somebody to help you. Don't try to tackle this project on your own, because the more you procrastinate getting some help the more business you lose.

CA,

Nobody is arguing the fact that Sal's products aren't worth the wait. The fact of the matter is that you shouldn't have to wait and if you do something needs to change. Reasonable downtime is acceptable, but I think this is a little ridiculous. We know each other as friends CA so if this came across the wrong way I apologize. I know your truck runs great with Sal's filter and chip, but Sal needs to realize that he needs help and can't do it on his own. Trust me as I've been there!

I also have e-mailed sal and asked for an approximate date of when we can start placing orders. I have also been waiting on his reply for quite sometime. I, as other responders suggested, am looking elsewhere for alternative products. From reading all you fellow L owners, I realize his posiition and situation of all his orders backing up while trying to make a living at the same time. I just wish he would take a minute or two to say on his page when this would be and then everyone would leave him alone to his catching up.

You knew there would be a wait when you ordered. There is no suprise so stop acting like you just figured it out. In other words, quit yer bitchin'. I've waited for a worthwhile product and now you want up to the front of the line. I think I saw you in traffic trying to cut in ahead of everybody else. It's a busy street, wait for your light.

Its not a case of getting to the front of the line...... I don't know if i'm in it.
I'm not bitching and am prepared to wait for a good product, just an acknowlegement and a guesstimate of time is all I ask

Pacecar18 your points are well taken. I run a very successful, large sales operation, and our hallmark is customer relations. One of the things that is maddening about Sal, is that he appears on the board to discuss Swanson chips, and hoods that are of interest to him, but tends to neglect inquiries of potential customers. You are either available or not. It is maddening to see someone often appear on the board, but that same person cannot or will not answer inquiries. I am a big fan of Sal and his products, and think he is an incredible asset to this board. I would have purchased his products, but with no response, I cannot give my business to someone who seemingly didn't care about my needs. I replicated that into, "gee, what if I have some problems, he will probably not answer me any quicker than he is answering me now." With some on the board, Sal could commit genocidic atrocities, and it would somehow be justified by them. Calm down, just giving my 2 cents worth.

"genocidic atrocities".... Wow... Opening Webster’s Unabridged... Creak.....Flipping one page at a time since I have all the time in the world to wait.........

Seriously, I dont mind waiting for a good product. The trouble is that in the Internet economy the expectation is for next day shipping and if you cant meet that you should be prepared to explain the delays and give an ETA. In fact mail-order regulations insist on it… http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0110456.html

There are lots of great ideas and great products that failed because of lack of follow through or failure to seem responsive.

Sal, if there is anything I can do to help you with your back logs send me an email. Perhaps an email auto responder would help you with your customer contact challenges.
“ Thanks for contacting PSP, Due to overwhelming demand for our top quality products, we are currently experiencing a 8 week backlog for Filters and a 2 week backlog for chips. If you would like an update via email send an email with updates in the subject line and we will send you an email if these dates change.”

Or perhaps updates to your web site to reflect the time frames involved.

Doug

I do understand and you others must also that Sal was directly told not to discuss his business on this message board. He won't answer any questions related to orders on the board so don't think he will.

I must agree with Skydive69 in the fact that seeing Sal posting messages here and then not responding to customers e-mails in my opinion does not present a very good example of good customer service. Anybody who owns their own business and provides a service to people must learn to put their customers as one of their main concerns. If they fail to do so it reflects poorly on them, no matter how good of product they are selling

Silver_2000 has given a very good example of how Sal could handle the overwhelming response for filters and chips. Nobody is upset about the delay! Its the lack of response that is upsetting to everyone.
