Talking New KB tune!!

Finally got my KB polished and installed with new tune and EGR delete. It did require a few changes (i.e. fuel system, plugs, etc.). Numbers were good for the timing that my tuner used. Put down 460rwhp on a Mustang dyno...on pump gas...with on 14 degrees timing. Kept the 6# lower and put the KB 3.25 upper to make 15psi.

Can't wait to get to this the track (Damn Florida heat) and see what it will do. With my polished/Steig ported blower...I ran a best of 11.9 at 113 in the 1/4. Wonder if I can do a bit better.

Will post pics tomorrow. I have to say....polishing the KB was worth it

Art...let me know how the console mod comes along. BTW....that Steig blower made more torque down low than the KB does. Your going to love it!!!! And...if I didn't say it before...thanks for the help with polishing

460 on a Mustang with 15psi?? Do you have heads and cams?

RWTD got me 440 with 16psi/17* on their Dynojet.

Those are really strong numbers for that set-up, especially on a Mustang dyno.
I put down roughly the same numbers with the same set-up, except mine was
tuned on a dyno-jet.

Ron- Those are great numbers. What was your pulley combo? I'm running a 5lb lower and a 3.25" upper to make 16PSI (stock long block....440/528). What was your torque?

Thanks

6# lower and 3.25 upper. (460/541) I have shorty header w/ off-road mids, that's
probably why I'm only producing 15#'s in the heat. I plan to purchase a 3.1 for the
summer months. That should put me in the 17# range.

Thanks for the reply Ron. That's a killer setup. I believe Reicherd Racing makes a 3.1".

No heads or cams...completely stock on the long block. My mods are as follow:

Kenne Bell
6#lower / 3.25 upper
C&L plenum / elbow / 95mm MAF
Electric fan / Cobra R pump
MAFIA extender
Long tube headers / Silver bullet exhaust
Walboro 255's / 60# injectors
JLP supercooler
AFCO heat exchanger
PI 2600 stall convertor
FTVB
Accufab SB/TB
BR7's / gapped 0.36
EGR delete

I am sure there are more....but basically....have swapped out everything except the long block

Thanks Ron. I was happy with them. I was putting down some great numbers on the same dyno with the Steig ported blower I had previously as well. I ran a best of 11.9 with that setup (minus the KB) and the ported blower. (on my race tune/114 octane)

Thanks. To get those numbers my tuner had my race tune very radical! I was running 17psi and 23 degrees timing. On my street tune...I would run consitant 12.2 - 12.3.
