Question exhaust noise

Anyone notice a flutter type exhaust leak sound from their L's.Its really noticeable next to a highway divider on medium to heavy accel. Can't seem to find any leaks from exhaust system except slight leak from front muffler connections which I tightened.Almost sounds like its from manifolds but I can't see any carbon tracking which would or should show a leak where it bolts to the heads.
any insight would be great
Thanks

Mine 00 does the same thing. Sounds like it is coming from the passenger side exhaust manifold...

I had that problem when I raced a chevy on the highway. All of a sudden a the truck was farting. Atleast that what it sounded like. I had the dealer re-torque the entire exhaust system and they told me the sound was coming from the loose muffler, and they noticed some other loose parts on the exhuast. When I finally got it to Las Vegas, it promptly happened again, except this time it blew the muffler completely off. It was on the hangers. Once again I had a dealer re-torque the exhaust. Sure enough 2 weeks after that, they decided to put on new clamps, once they put the muffler on, a third time.

I have since come to like the sound of my truck without the muffler, and have decided to go without it.

Take it in, and tell them to look at your exhaist system. Be sure and tell them you have a stock muffler, thats what they keep asking me. Ford really put side exhuast on their trucks? (Yeah, they asked me that)

When I was replacing mine with the Eldebrock I noticed it was black around the crimped oval seam line at the front and back of the muffler. Sure sign of leaking. Others have reported the same. Basicly muffler is poorly made piece of junk. Replace it. I love the sound of mine now, yet at normal hiway its about the same as before. Not like the old glass pacs I ran as a kid.
