Hey Lightningquick
Have you had any problems with losing your boost at the 1-2 shift?

Cool

crush69,

I have the PSP race gas flip chip and 4.10s.

I love my 4.10's and chip My speedo is dead nuts on. 3 mile test at 60mph@60 seconds. Also I can run it in race position lite throttle and it's like stock, smooth as silk You must use 50/50 mix, 100 oct. with 93 pump if you get on it in the race position.

One last thing, I run 12.89@107.62 This was on a marginal track. I was hopeing to go to Woodburn, were I would run .30 faster "12.50s".

I guess what Im saying is, it might not be your 4.10's that are the problem.

crush69,

The big problem as I see it is the weather. Nobody up north/back east understands 100% humidity at 90+ degrees which makes it feel like a 100+ in or near the Gulf Coast region of Texas.

Even Sal mentioned a few posts back he was trying for the 12s and did not make it because the conditions were not ideal and he was running slicks.

Christy Ann was very upset cause she was only running low 14s in the beautuful state of Colorado. I get nose bleed just thinking about climbing to the top step at the courthouse in Denver, which is a mile high. Oh yea, I was born in Denver.

JIGAWATT is in the 12s. He is running race gas with a race only chip and I would assume slicks. That's wonderful!

When everybody went to WFC in St Louis the weather seemed to be good and times were great per the posts and everybody was happy.

So... what am I getting at? It's conditions and attitudes. If your first run was bad you may be beating yourself instead of your 'L and sad to say you may give up.

The way I look at it your times were great! You knocked off .4 and ran another 3 miles an hour faster. Obviously your Father did well to.

If you really want to compare times etc. find somebody who can really drive(understand I'm not knocking you or your Father) will beat your truck all the way down to the finish line. Somebody who has lightning(pardon the pun) quick reaction time and who don't let off till beyond the finish line. Remember driving is a big part of this whole thing.

The other thing if you are having problems with Swanson's Chip call Danny he will work with you.

Everybody understand something I'm not knocking anybody just making a comment.

And remember...... there is always somebody faster.

I have a 6500 rev limiter and My truck shifts like a chevy 400 turbo tranny in low one My truck actually leaps the truck foward a truck length when shifting .Even at half throttle. It is a little harsh for daily driving but it is incredible when you want it.It still does not chirp 2nd but I dont care.It hits hard and pulls right through while shifting. Its hard to explain but on superchip,It gets rid of delays but there is still a 2 part shifting stradegy. On swansons,Its just one quick abrupt shift and it never stops pulling,it actually lurches the truck while doing this.NEVER had loss of boost.

I have been racing since i was 15 and I am now 25. I have had many cars that my father and i have built. Many of the cars/dragsters have run in the 8's. I have never let out of any vehicle no matter what the cause so I would say that I can drive well enough to know that this is all my L will do. I do not like the fact that all I hear about is how well PSP is and it makes so much power. I left messages with him for over a month and a half and have had NO response until now when he wants to question somebody else's chip. Like I said earlier, I am not criticizing his product but more his (will he ever call or write me back). He now responds to an e-mail which I do not believe he was calling my truck slow but yet questions Swanson. This is very poor judgement from my point of view. If he is really concerned then he should take 5 or 10 minutes and call me or leave me an e-mail and I would be glad to buy from him. But instead of taking this 5 or 10 minutes from his busy schedule he wishes to respond with the comments that he has made in the earlier post. Yes the weather sucks sometimes and I am sure that it will be better in Tx towards the fall but I will be @ Rivercity on Wed. night and try again. And I will run 2 passes on the chip and 2 without to really see the difference. Also my truck shifted hard when I first got the chip the first time. I had to send the chip back because the calibration for the gears was not correct and I asked if he could make the shift unforgettable and WOOHOO it is a back crusher.Sorry for the long post but I just needed to let go.(SAL) my e-mail address is roy_bray@amat.com and my # is 512-633-4132 if you still want to help. I am allways going to need more horsepower and I am willing to try your stuff still. And by the way if you did not know but Reaction times have absolutley nothing to do with ET's.

Hey Crush, Sal here. I'm working on getting to your return call. Trying to keep them in order of when they came in . I am glad you responded to my questions. Many people may have thought I was trying to bash Danny's chip, but this is not the case. I was asking for your trucks ET's based on mods, because I thought you ran the 13.93 stock, and the 13.53 with ALL of your current mods added after that. Only a 4/10s decrease would have been not too impressive for your combined mods, but that gain is on the mark for a good chip.

crush69,

Thanks for the info and glad to hear you and your Dad have been at it for some time. I really respect that and no doubt it is fun for the both of you.

You really seem to have a good head on your shoulder.

I beleive you took my comments as I intended with good constructive thoughts. No matter how things go good luck.

Hopefully we will see you in Ennis in October.

I will be there in oct. I appreciate your input. I talk to Danny 1 or 2 times aweek just giving him heads up on my truck. He is a great guy. He has told me that he is working on the Throttle body. I would also like to come down there sooner but I don't know when. Maybe you could let me know in advance, maybe a week or two when it is going to be a good time to go and my father and I will drive up there. I would like to put this truck on a better track. It has gotten to the point that I can not take one of our cars to this track close to us for the track is not good enough. We are about 2 months away from our newest car being built and we will be making stops at the tracks in Ennis and Baytown to run it. It is going to be one hell of a ride(2000lbs 1800 - 2000hp )Let me know.

crush69,

When y'all get your car built and deceide to come down to Baytown let me know. Would enjoy seeing you run.

It figures.... Danny said he was working on a single bladed throttle body a couple weeks ago. Needless to say I gotta have one. Danny also mentioned that he was planning to do a ram air conversion a while back.

The quest for speed never ends....... I'm sure glad my other half understands all this.

I can be reached at jarmstro@utmb.edu
