Cool

What kind of inconsistency issues exist with the '99s? I ask because I don't know.

Dor - I just get amused at the number of edge-of-controversy threads that have your name at the top of them... it tickles me.

Personally, I don't think there are enough chipped and filtered '00s running around here yet to draw any sweeping conclusions - and if the general consensus about mileage affecting performance is correct, then the '00s we've seen are also handicapped by not being "loosened up" yet.

We can't go on the experience of one or two people because you can always find people who have chipped and filtered their Lightnings and picked up a tenth or two and then others who have picked up a half second or more - same year, same general conditions, just different results for whatever reason.

I guess my take on things here is that it would be intellectually dangerous to draw any definite conclusions from one or two people's experiences, but that may be way too many years in grad school bubbling up...

After putting a few more miles on my truck I will try to arrange a back-to-back chip comparison between stock, a PSP chip, a Swanson chip and a SuperChip - same dyno, same day, baselined and well controlled and then publish the results in a future issue of the newsletter. While that won't answer the '99/'00 question directly, it will be easy to see how much power the '00 gains in each configuration and how this compares with people who have done before and after dyno runs with '99s.

MRBBQMAN,
Please Email Jeff directly (FMOSRacing@aol.com) and maybe we can work out a plan. I'm eager to know how the 00 responds. If I'm ever able to get off work on Friday early enough to get it to the track down here, I expect it will go 13.5?@100 w/o ANY modifications.
If not, we're happy with the 13.68@99.49 in St. Louis.

alphadoggy,

I would be very interested in the before Swanson Chip and after Swanson Chip.

Danny is a great guy and I have one of his chips and very pleased with it. I based line my 'L before chip and when my local guy can get me on the dyno, our schedules don't seem to be the same, I want to see the after results.

Danny re-programmed my chip when I got a Pro-M 80MM MAF from him. All I can say is... WOW!!! But must admit I have this real stange problem.... at WOT my 'L has this real high pitch scream, the tires are smoking and when it shifts into 2nd the tires smoke some more . I also have this problem with Camaro's, RX7's and Mustangs following me around(note.. I said follow). Gee I wonder what they want??!!
