Post Tundra Kill - Left him in the dirt!

I was driving down the road and noticed one of those Toyota Tundra with v-8 engine(notice small v). I gave him a buzz by at about 60 mph. We came up to the light and I noticed he had a muscle head profile, kind of aggresive look. I new this would be fun, I wanted to yell "I here those are real fast" but figured I would just embarrass him and let the L do the talking. Anyway the light turns green and sure enough,he guns it. I give him a half a a truck lead, roll off the line and nail it. The tires spin anyway, then they hook up after about 10 feet and I just blast by him. I left him about 100 yards back and slowed down, so did he. I don't think he wanted anymore. Those things are a SLOW POS. I am sure glad I don't own one.

Question

I dont totally understand the whole "give them a head start" method. That just makes the other driver think he has more low end torque than you, and there's no excuse for that when your truck makes over 500 ft-lbs @ 3200rpm. I prefer to leave them from the line, and keep them in my dust until they disappear over the horizon. I have found 200-205 car lengths is a good point to let off the throttle.

I could not describe beating a Tndra as a "kill." We know going in that they can't get out of their own way. It is like shooting a duck floating in the pond. BTW, I would love to race one also, just to **** one off.

Actually some things arent a kill but I believe this one is for good reasons.
1.Toyota claims its the fastest fullsize pickup in its class.

2.Toyota is always showing it in magazines compared to sports cars.I have many of the advertisements!.They show it with a yellow something.

3.If the guy takes off like he thinks its fast,Then it is a kill when you smoke him.

Good point Lightningquick. I was astounded when Motor Trend picked it as truck of the year, and wrote a letter to the editor explaining my rationale for the Lightning receiving said honor. Needless to say, it will not be published. Okay, if some clown in a rice truck with no chance sticks out is figurative chest, and I smoke him, I will consider it a kill.

I did read the rationale for their pick, but one of my points is that those rags are read by, and aimed at an audience of enthusiasts, and what "enthusiast" would rather have a Tundra rather than an L for his or her ride? I would submit - none! I was driving besides a Tundra yesterday commuting home, and I was wondering if the driver would still be thinking he was driving the truck of the year if he had a chance to drive home in my Lightning - I think he would **** on his Tundra after that experience.

Next time I come across one, I will let him win by half a truck, then the wad of twenties come out. I can see it already, the big smile of the other guy thinking he beat another ford truck, then once he sees the wad, the bumper curls between the rear tires... Who knows I make make an extra 60 bucks one day!

Straight from Toyota.com

From 0-60, the Tundra is the fastest base V8 pickup in its class.**

Then down below, it defines the ** as
** Based on AMCI-certified performance tests conducted using a model-year 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 Access Cab SR5 model against comparably equipped 1999 4.6-liter Ford F-150 with 3.55 axle ratio, 4.8-liter Chevrolet Silverado with 3.42 axle ratio and 5.2-liter Dodge Ram with 3.55 axle ratio half-ton full-size base V8 pickup trucks.

I guess them Tundra owners need to read the small print...

By the way, I'm new here (not new to forums) and just picked up a 2000 L.
