Improved motor mounts

Ive got a 2001 screw 5.4 and was wondering if there are poly,or better than stock, motor mounts available? I figure i use the same ones as an L so Im hoping to benefit again w/ performance parts that crossover to my truck.Im also looking for poly tranny mounts but I use a 4r70w.

Thnx,
Frank

My main reason for this is I have Bassani e/l headers(7 hours to install those pretzels: those who havem know ) which on the passenger side can still rub on the upper bilstein shock bolt despite cutting most of it off.My only alternative is an engine strap.

SWThomas,
That is what I referred to as engine straps. Those plates that Neil used are tied to the chassis(or an imovable part attached to the chassis) w/ a chain or cable to actually limit the distance a motor can move under high torque conditions..One thing I dont understand w/ Neil's setup is why would you need a passenger side strap if thats the direction the motor shifts to under torque?

Wouldn't that also transmit all engine vibrations directly to the chassis?

So, I take it there aren't any poly motor mounts out there for our trucks.

Maybe this can help you:

A company can build them if there is a demand for them. About 4 years ago, I wanted poly bushings for our sway bars. I called energy suspension and spoke to Greg Corey. He's a great guy and very receptive for the enthusiasts. He told me they would build them if I sent him the brackets and the bushings. They now list and sell the poly bushings for our trucks. Not sure if there is good demand for the mounts. They must be the same as the 5.4 F-150 and he may need the stock one. Call him and let us know.

Only under high load circumstances. You wouldnt feel it w/ daily driving thru town, only when you punch it.

My only hope is that someone will makem 4 the Lightnings, since regular 5.4 f150's in the same year group would also benefit

If we can get enough demand together,we should email e.s. to see if its worth it for them

Shoot, I'll buy the factory mounts to send to them........

HI!... There is hardly any vibration at all. The plates are made from 1/4 inch thick aluminum. The arms are 3/8" CHROME MOLY tubing with heim joints on both ends. There is a a rubber bushing where the bolt goes through the heim joint into the aluminum plate. All hardware is stainless steel. It's cool to sit in the truck at idle with my COMP CAMS custom ground 0.600 lift cams. lol! Been running this set-up for about 5 years now and luv it.
