Post chips & shifting characteristics questions

The WOT shifting is quicker with the chips, so quick in fact that one gets a kick in the pants where before there was a smooth transition. I'm wondering if the kick over time will result in increased wear on ujoints & other? Is there a way to always keep some drive torque on the drivetrain during shifts to avoid some of this kick, and is this what the bands in the tranny are doing in the gradual (stock) shift scenario? It seems that for WOT events other than track oriented some compromise between kick and smooth might be better. Thoughts?

I disagree, the WOT shift does not jerk you back much more than stock, in fact it is smoother because it hits at the time you expect it instead of after 2 delays. Believe me, it feels like it was supposed have come from the factory. I had a truck with a built up tranny and converter, and it snapped with every shift. The chip does not do that.

At WOT on mine (2k superchip) there is a strong clunk between the 1-2, 2-3, sort of like someone hit the pumpkin with a sledge hammer; this is not present at gradual acceleration. I take it then that this is wrong? Anyone else getting this?

With my dual PSP chip, with or without WOT, the thrust is like a rocket ship. No kicks, no bog downs, no jerks - just a strong smooth rush from 0 to 140 plus. Any departure from this type of experience would seem to me to be incorrect.
