Smile rooftop grooves, bed centering

Duh. What are the grooves on top of the L roof for? If I ever get this part painted, will there be a problem with filling the grooves... they aren't some sort of expansion joint are they?

Also, it looks like the bed on my L isn't centered; anyone else see this (front of bed shifted toward driver's side on mine)? Is it difficult to adjust? TIA.

I believe the grooves in the roof are supposed to be rain channels. Can't help with the off center bed.

My bed was also mis-aligned. I just had the dealers body shop adjust it. There is only four bolts that hold it in place. They had it done in a couple of hours.

Thumbs down

TVW,
The grooves are "rain channels". They are a pain in the *** to paint too if work is done.

My entire vehicle was repainted w/R&M-Polyurethane sealant(Clear Coating), and the only part on the truck that has any blemishes(bubbles) are those damn rain channels. I am going to have the service shop see if they can possibly work something out with it, cause I'm very **** about how my paint looks.

Just centered my bed. Six bolds in the bed. Loosen from top side- adjust bed and tighten. Don
