Anyone run a Porsche Carrera?

Saw one blasting down my neighborhood street late at night. I would have caught up to him and raced, but I had my dog in the passenger seat.

I know they can knock off 12's, how would we/I stand on the street? Mods. in sig.

You should have gone for him.

I have been up against one and the guy had no choice but to pull over and let me pass as I was all over his bumper, he was pig sick and said he had spent over 60k ( £ ) for the car and was peed about being past by a commercial vehicle.

We had a beer or two a couple of days later and a good bit of banter.

I ran one last year from NC to SC we crossed the half state in about 30min from where we started. It really came down to who had the most ***** to hold it in the longest. He did start walking off on me after 130mph. He'd get nervous and let off and I'd pass him and I cut cars off left and right to not let him pass me. I was doing 150 through what wouldn't have been a turn at "normal" interstate speeds and felt the back end getting really light. I let off and he went by me with the thumbs up while I was about to **** myself. I could not outhandle that thing no way but I did pretty good in the 100mph+ roll ons. My mods are programmer, 4lb pulley, magnaflow catback and airaid intake.

Hate to say this, but from what your post sounds like - I am just glad that you didn't kill someone else from the way that you drive to prove a point. Maybe you need to practice on an open road (if you can't take it to a track) instead of weaving around other cars with people's wives and kids in them... Let the other guy be the dumba$$...that way, there's only 1 on the road with everyone else just trying to get to work/daycare/etc..

Just my $.02

Ya I kinda learned my lesson after that one. We were driving pretty damn crazy but everyones gonna do it once. I keep most of it on the track with the bikes now. I'd like to do a track day with the L. I had a buddy who did a drift school in it.

No, but he would fly right out of the seat if I had to stop even a little bit.

I drove my uncles 2006 Carrera S and that thing was unbelievable. My trucks got a 6lb xcal etc and there's no way it would keep up in a straight line or especially the turns. I read in I think car and driver that they tick off 12.7 1/4s but when the magazine got the car back for a second time when it was broken in they turned out 12.5's one after another easily with a many 12.2 and 12.3's.

As for the 996 models not (S or 4S) I think they pull 12.9's not sure though.

A buddy of mine sells Porches. I don't have any trouble putting distance on him in anything he has had out yet at any sane starting speed, but the turbo is insanely fast at the top end.

I've run 2 of them...one was a silver non-turbo (I am assuming). This thing had the biggest whale tail I've ever seen. Young guy driving with his girl. Had to embarass him on the Interestate a few time before he finally got the picture. The other one I raced on the interestate was a rootbeer color...and this guy hurt my feelings in the worst way. Had me by about 10 or 12 then slowed down. Once I caught him (I was gonna just fly by at full throttle to see if he could catch me) He stepped on it when I got to his door and left me again. Keep in mind I was full throttle the whole time too! I was bone stock when I raced both of them. Now, I've done a 6lb lower with a good tune. Think I may be able to make up 5 or 6 of those car lengths now if we raced again, unless he was just playing with me.

Thanks,
