Wohoo picked it up this afternoon. I got to drive it around some tonight i must say i love it. I bought a silver one, and its sweet. One question though, when racing is it better shift though the gears or leave it in drive and turn the overdrive off? Thanks for all the advice on when i was looking. If anyone in the michigan area is looking for one Royal Oak Ford has 3 black ones, ask for Steve Miller, Elder Ford had a black and a Red and the same with dean arbor. Tim Haverty was helpful at Elder, and Anderea at Dean sellers were helpful. All 3 will A plan, Dean sellers and RO ford charge a bit over a plan though.

Just leave it in D, with the OD off. If you play around a bit you will find there is a lapse of time from when YOU shift to when the L shifts, likely to hit the rev. limiter.

I tried several dealers in the area (Dearborn to Ann Arbor) for a 2000, and all were taken, and a waiting list to boot! I finally found one in Monroe that someone backed out on. My Dad is picking it up on Friday!

Glad to hear that you got your Lightning. Too bad about the two dealers that you mentioned that charge over A-Plan price. I would hope that that is not the case because when they agree to sell a vehicle on the A-Plan They are bound by Ford Motor Company rules and agreements to sell the vehicle at that price -no less no more.

Well they gave me Paint protection, the etched glass thing, and interior protectant for $500 over A plan.

I also got my first race tonight =). I rolled up next to a mustang and he reved it up a bit next light we hit it and i spanked him pretty good. I tried to get him to line up at the next light and he hurried off on a side street, wounded that a truck gave him a spanking =p.
