got some new tires today

well after my front tire went flat yesterday and the shop that go to all the time couldnt get my stock tire in time, he showed me that he had 2 Michelin pilot sports that came off a viper with less than 50 miles on them and said he would cut me a great deal on the two now that these things are on i can tell a huge difference they are shorter than the stock tire but alot wider i went from a 295/45-18 to a 335/30-18 i dont know if they will help me hook up any better but they sure look nice.

just thought i would share.

chris

Those tires are way out of spec. Mininum wheel width is 12".

If you go to Michelin's site, you'll see what he meant. He says that tire requires a minimum wheel width of 12", yours are 9.5" I wouldn't try any hard cornering. Your tire guy didn't do you any favor.

It seems that your tire guy doesn't have a grasp on it either. If you came to him and said "put these on," that's one thing, but for him to recommend them is another.

Hope his liability insurance premiums are paid up.

This is worse than him suggesting a set of maypops to get you on the road until the F1s came in.

I think you're missing the point that's being made about wheels and tires.

Take a closer look at what Tim and the others wrote.

I can't even run 335's on the track on 9.5 wheels.

Don't turn harder than a perambulator, buddy. < grin >

You will roll those puppies right off the rim.

Hard to tell from the pics whether the sidewalls are bulging or not.
