Sharpshooter won't be happy.

Finally got around to this project and testing some new materials I really like. The Evercoat Glazing Putty makes bondo seem like dog chit. The Problem Plastic Repair is like JBWeld but with a 1 minute drytime, this stuff dries hard, quick and sticks very well to the dash plastic.

Lots of sanding left to get it ready for paint.

Tampa,

With all of the cool 'body' work that you do I would have thought you would have known already...Evercoat's stuff is definitely top notch. I won't use anything but.

I do, just never got around to buying the expensive stuff for plastic. I have a gallon in the garage for metal and it's awesome as well.

It's not so much as not knowing as it's not having the extra cash to buy these items.

Looks good. I think you'll love the gauges right there. After almost 2 years of use, I think its close to be being the best place to put gauges. It appears that yours might be a little more integrated(recessed).

Thanks man. I wanted them even more recessed, but there's not much room under the bubble.

Yup, it's two pieces glued together. The 2nd piece is hard to find and I would have never located it. But, since I live in a new house and there is PLENTY of pcv laying around from contruction it worked out. The first piece can be located at Home Depot, works great as a gauge holder. You will have to figure which piece they are since I have alot of time invested in finding this combination.

This is probably the best piece I have ever built due to using the materials in the first image. I will never use bondo again, this chit rocks!

Are you using a adhesion promoter like bulldog or duplicolor?

Adhesion promoter is only needed when your too lazy to actually sand the part. I usually sand all my parts with 220 grit sandpaper which makes it uneccessary. Just make sure to tack cloth the part before you paint. Painting over dust in never a good idea.
