Question Anyone use WIX Filters?

I was just wondering if anyone in the Lightning community is using or has used WIX Filters before. Is it a quality product? How much do they cost? Here is their website in case you are interested like I am...

Wix happens to make an excellent filter. On par with Purolator and Motor craft (two of the best) There is the silver series and the gold. Under independent studies there wasn't any real difference between the two other than price. BTW, Napa's own filterts are all Wix filters with the Napa label. Just stay away from Fram!!!

I have been using Wix filters for years and they are some of the best you can get. They can be hard to find but are worth the effort. From what I have read, they are a step up from Motorcraft and Purolater and of course put Fram to shame.

Yep this guy is correct. For those who dont know Napa filters are Wix. If you know your Wix number, just drop the first number and then its a Napa number. ( Wix 51372 is for the L. So the Napa would be a 1372).

Fram has the best marketing of any filter, unfortunatley they also make one of the lesser quality filters. I know of at least 2 cases where an engine builder has had a Fram filter come apart within itself and either starve the engine of oil or contaminate the oil supply. Both lead to disaster. The paper element is glued together in a spiral within the casing and has been known to come apart. Their air filters have had no such issues.

Chances are this won't happen to anyone on this board, but there have been many cases of this. One thing to keep in mind is that Fram sells a lot of filters, so failure is more apparent. I just won't take that chance with any of my vehicles including my business trucks and personal motorcycles. Just my 2 cents

Go to NHTOC and do search on this very subject,,,you will be amazed that Wix makes almost everyone's filters. We had done a large and very broad search.

wix is the best filter on the market

I have seen cut aways of all major filters and WIX has the most pleats, and uses a thicker filtering paper.

WIX can be found as NAPA GOLD, napa silver is made by another mfgr.
