Question 2000L PSP CHIP?

Has anyone bought the PSP chip for the 2000L with CUX2 computer? If so were you pleased with the performance gains? I feel pretty confident that Sal has a real good chip for the 99L, but I was wondering what everyone has seen that has purchased a chip for their 2000L. I do no know if he has had the time to produce a good chip for the 2000L.

Thanks

Question

That is a good point. I will let you know if mine ever arrives. I've had it on order since March. I should have ordered the chip seperate from the air filter kit. Oh well...live and learn. I have these great 3.73:1 gears to drop in, but have to wait till the chip gets here before I can put it in, otherwise, the speedo will be screwed.

ATOMHEART,

Where did you get your gears and how much did you spend? Did you find someone to put them in?

My friend said he would do it for $150 I think. Just some FYI! I wanted to know the price cause I'm making my wish list

Collins,

I had a PSP chip in my 2000. It made a big difference with the shifting firmness and there was some "seat-of-the-pants" difference. But I had pinging problems in overdrive with my chip. The engine would ping badly until the downshift out of overdrive or the torque converter unlocked.

I do not believe that my experience with the PSP chip is normal. To Sal's credit, he is giving me a full refund "no questions asked".

Pacecar,

I have only gotten one quote to install the gears of $300, other than the Ford Dealers quotes of $700 each. I dont plan on really shopping for prices, I just plan to find the very best differential shop in town, and have them do it. Price is not the issue, but having a great truck, is. The gears were $199 through Ford Motorsport.
