Evo VIII Kill Story
Evo VIII Kill Story
No pictures or vids here just a story, so if you arent that bored you better leave now.
My Mods: None (Besides JDM Silver Bullet and Ground Force Kit)
About 9 PM, 5000ft, 60 degrees.
I was on my way home from work and decided to stop off at Vons and pick up a six pack. As I was pulling out I saw an Evo going flying by playing games with a little GTI. Even with my music on (but windows down) I could hear they Evo's turbo). So I havent had fun with my truck for a while so I pull out and catch up. The light infront of them turns yellow and the GTI goes through but the Evo slams on his breaks. I pull up next to him and he says:
"Whats up?"
Me: "Just heading home from work."
Him: "I saw a truck coming up behind me fast so I decided to check it out"
Me: "I saw you playing with that GTI"
At this point he begins to look in his review, obviously for police officers:
Me "Wanna have some fun?" (I felt like a prostitute using that line)
Him: "How fast is that thing, you know in the quater mile?"
Now our light had changed green by now, so we really didnt have a fair way of getting our little race started. I look over at him and say:
"You're about to find out" (I felt redemed for the prostitute line with this quote)
Now I was definatly the first to step on the gas, but I had heard him idling at a high RPM for a while so he was ready for what was coming. I, however, pulled the classic 'mash the gas to the floor' trick. Of course I really didnt go very far very fast with this tactic. I spun all the way through first and even a little into second which suprised me because I had never done that with my truck (must have been the cold air). He had caught up by the time my truck hit second. When my tires caught I took off, of course it wasnt a masacre, I probably only had him by one car length but I was slowly pulling away when we had to slow down for traffic.
Like any "street race" there were so many factors I wouldnt call it a fair race. It probably would have been different at the track. He was really cool about it and gave me a wave when he turned at the next light, instead of the classic "Ricer Fly-By".

nice man, i didnt know our trucks were faster than those EVO's,
i raced my buddys stock STi from about 20-120 and i pulled about 1 car on him total.
on a side note, i had a great kill tonight
some ***** in a S2000 with his girl in the car and top down is next to me at a light (i saw him weaving in and out of traffic in my rearview), so i wait for the light, wait and see what he does, he eases into it but as soon as my front bumper is next to his door he punches it..... yea both their heads snapped around when they heard that eaton screaming by, left him back by at least 15 lengths

I dunno what it is about S2000, but I dont know many 'cool' people that drive them. They always seem to have some kind of complex so congrats on the kill.

Nice kill.
I was halfway through writing my long SRT-10 story just now when my internet closed itself maybe I'll type it again tomorrow if I have time but to sum it up I eventually ended up next to this guy at a red light, middle of the night, no other cars in site, side by side (doesnt get any more fair or PERFECT).
We roll down our windows and the guy goes, "what you got in there?"
Me: Supercharged 5.4L stock minus my exhaust. How bout you?
Arrogant bastard: It says it on the hood...Viper Powered...
Me: Well lets hope that will be enough
Arrogant bastard: *chuckles like a little weasle*
I get on the brakes hard and give it a little gas to let this guy know there will be no #$%#ing around and we go when the light hits green. He reacts with some little revs of his own until he lets the rpms settle at what sounded to be a little high for a street launch. About 5 seconds later the light turns...I lurch out in front with a few chirps from the F1's while old weasle falls to my rear fender with only half the tire tread he started with. Through first I only pull slightly. BOOM, I hit second still can't shake him. BOOM hit 3rd and the lightning starts pulling away!!! By the end of 3rd Mr. Viper Powered is sitting about half a truck behind me. As the truck hits 4th I let off and start slowing down the light ahead turns green and as I cruise through Mr. Viper Powered takes a U-turn and crys all the way home
Well I guess i just told the whole story...once I get into it there's no stopping it seems haha. Hope you guys enjoyed. Good night

All my friends have tricked out ricers right...SO my buddy Tony has a 05 SRT-4 with the mopar stage III Kit. His dyno put down like 342 horse-e's right. So the other day it was super nice out, and theres an old airport that is closed that we go to race but only in the daytime, cause the cops are always there on weekend nights right! So, he races a frontwheel drive built turbo eclipse and beats it pritty good. Then, he races a sti, beats him good after he finally got traction. Well, my cusin has a 01 ws6 with exhaust and 4.10's...so he calls me out, and i beat him by like 2 car lengths because he spun so he said. So then, it was down to me and Tony, and no one thought I would win right...well, the ported polished eaton-tb-plenom-4lb lower-factory tech vb-silver bullit, cool aid III(and a bunch more) thought otherwise. I practice launches all the time, so I really know how to drive my truck. I beat him on the launch everythime! I love having an automatic you know! All these other guys dump the clutch and spin. Not me, just gas and go!

Good write up, I enjoyed reading that.
Here's my story,
Going throught town on a three lane road, there was this evo in the left, me in the center and I forget, a peace of crap in the right. I try to catch up with the evo and a slow old chey pickup in my lane slows down, could go left, a car there, so I went right, as I start to speed up the evo nails it, all I hear was turbo noise, so I slamm the L, I pulled all the way beside him, as I was about to pass, the light change. Neck and Neck at the light. We talk for a second, he said he like my truck, i say, that car is pretty quick, we conversate a little and he ask how is it from the dead stop. I said let's see. The light turns green, I feathered it so I would spin out, I heard that turbo whine, so I had to drown him out, so I nailed the L. A split second, I jumped about one and a half on him and was pulling away until he got out of it. He waved and went on his way, i pulled into autozone. That was the first time I ran the L in about 6 months, well, that was the first time I drove it in about six months, the wife had been driving it to work. I see why she like to drive it. Just a little success story.
