Post What Is Your Opinon On The Superchip For The 00 L's?

I am thinking about buying a Superchip for my 00 L. My question is to those who already have the Superchip installed is it worth it? Does it make a big difference in the performance of the L's? My truck currently will lightly bark the tires when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, with the Superchip installed does it bark the tires more aggresively? Lastly with the Superchip installed, if you hit WOT from a stand still does the tires instantly boil or does it hook up and go? Thanks, HANKFAN

Do yourself a favor and research the (3) major chips currently in favor.

PSP
SuperCHIP
Swanson

Not in any particular order.

For my .02 you can't do anything better for the $, that makes such an improvement. Also get an air intake system of your choice.

$500.00 or so for both. Good racing and read these post for the merits of each system.

You start with a 13 second truck.Do you know how much money some people spend trying to knock off 1-2 tenths in the 1/4???. When you can take a 13.9 second truck and bring it down to 13.3-13.5 for $350,It is absoluley incredible! Most of us probally take it for granted but thr truth is,It is an absolute steal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you combine it with Sals intake for the most seat of the pants feel and it really makes it climb in the 100-140mph rang ALOT quicker(filter). This is one thing Ive noticed from my 99-2000.Ive had both years,One with a chip/filter and one with just a chip.I can tell you for certain that the filter DOES make a difference when combine with the chip. Not so much (filter by itself).Plus when you see how the shifts change,You will wonder how you lived without it!!!!!!!! This is not exagerated either!I have the superchip and am very happy VERY!.I am however going to wait for a PSP intake. To me it seems the best power, looks ,noise,**QUALITY** available! The air aid offers a little more protecton concidering it is a whole air box but the feel and noise doesnt compare.Probally the power doesnt either,I dont know.

You may want to wait a while before modifying your L. to make sure everything is OK. A lot of owners are having intercooler problems. If you put a chip in it, you may void the warranty. If you read your warranty, it says any damage cause by modifications or racing is not covered under warranty. If something goes wrong, its up to your dealer to determine if the mod caused the damage. You can say you didn't race it, but its hard to deny you have a super chip

Then again all you have to do is whip out the little card from your glovebox that came with your chip.It tells how it cannot void any warrantee!! But yes it is up to your dealer.I do not care. The person cleaning my truck when new was caught outside doing a reverse burnout with it.I told them strait out."Under any conditions that you refuse my truck for warrantte service,You will be sued for the incident when my truck had 13 miles on it and YOUR tech was burning my tires abusing my whole drive-train'.It is all documented and I will NOT have any warantee issues!

Not sure how a superchip would cause an intercooler to leak. Remember the dealer has to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure. IMHO, not likely in this example. At least I don't have to deal with a butt-headed service manager. I told mine up front what I planned to do to my L and he made some recommendations based on what he has done to his.

Once again, having aftermarket parts doesn't void your whole warranty. If they can prove that the aftermarket part caused something to fail then they can refuse to pay for that repair. Remember, they have to prove it caused the failure.

Down from soapbox now.
Oh yeah, I installed mine at 150 miles. Wouldn't even think of taking it out.
