Question boost controller

I just took delivery today of a red 2k L and will look into getting a boost controller. I will also get an air intake system and would like a chip. Is the superchip the best one to get?

I don't know if a boost controller will work or not. Since the lightning is supercharged. Generally the boost controllers (sometimes called turbo timers) are used on turbo cars... mazdas, toyotas and the like.

Yes you could hook up a boost controller, but there really is no point in doing so. This is something the Lightning does not need since the boost is contolled by RPM's rather than exhaust gases.

Anyone who calls a boost controller a turbo timer is an idiot and has no clue of what they are talking about. A turbo timer is used to keep your car running for a set time after turning off the ignition. This is to allow the turbo cool down. A boost controller is exactly what it says. It is used to control the amount of boost you can get.

I think its just a misconception that people have, thinking they are the same thing. I thought I made my statement pretty clear that It was a misunderstanding somepeople have.. But I guess not

Could someone please enlighten me on how a boost controller will work on a supercharged vehicle??? Boost is dependant on rpm on a supercharged vehicle. A boost controller is usaully in line between the plenum and the wastegate. Since there is no wastegate to control boost how is a controller going to help?

What you would need to do is use a blow off valve rather than a wastegate. There really is no point since the Lightning has a blow off valve already and I personally would rather have the computer controlling it rather than a boost controller.

No flame was intended as it may have seemed. Tell your friends what it really is so they don't give other people wrong information.

You mean a bypass valve? Blow off valve or pop off valve? Im confused... I dont think the truck has a pop off because there is no risk of a boost spike or surge. A bypass valve ...this maybe. The bypass valve would just let the engine breathe at low rpm from an alternate source until boost is produced kinda like a priority valve. But I still dont understand how a boost controller would benefit here. You know I probably misunderstood this whole thread so Im going back to my cave now...bye.bye. Was the point to run low boost and then flip a switch and run a higher boost setting? uughhh..time for bed!!!
