Hotchkis TVS on the way !!
Hotchkis TVS on the way !!
Ordered it today....everything should be here within a week except for the rear leafs which are on order and should be here within a week after that. Will be installing the kit myself with the help of my friend Gary. Just gonna have to find a good shop locally to go to for a top notch alignment. Might be a few weeks before install due to having to save for the alignment.
For those that dont know, the TVS includes, new rear leaf springs, new coil springs, and new front and rear swaybars. It also provides a 1.5"/2.5" suspension drop.
Does anyone that has the kit happen to have any reccomended alignment specs for me to take with me ? I'd like to take full advantage of this kit and make it handle to its max. I'm also thinking of making an order to DBL G for one of his Panhard Bars.

That's where I started with my truck -- Hotchkis springs and anti-sways (the Hotchkis shocks were not available then).
If I had to do it all over again, I would do this:
1. Inflate the tires to about 35 lbs.
2. Add the springs, get it aligned and drive it for a while.
3. Add the shocks and drive it for a while.
4. Add the anti-sways and drive it for a while.
Installing the whole TVS at once will not allow you to appreciate what each component is contributing. And not having that appreciation may hinder future suspension upgrades.
There is very little efficiency lost in doing it in chunks, and it spreads the work out over several weekends.

I would do that tim, but I just dont have the time...The whole kit will be going in, then maybe later I will do the panhard. Also I didnt do the shocks...I decided the stocks will be fine and when they wear out I will replace them with QA1's.
I did the kit bout 4 months ago, and I will tell you the truck handles like its on rails. Just dont try to bring coffee in the truck, because you feel every pebble on the road. Thats not a complaint, its just the way it has to be to get these trucks to handle like a true sports car IMO.
Tom I'll let you know....I'm gonna be doin it at my friend Gary's garage out east. Full lift, and air tools....Merrick aint bad, but I'm gonna try and find a place a lil closer to Huntington/Deer Park if I can.
