Exclamation I Had No Idea!!

I was cruisin' along on the freeway last night, and it was mostly empty, so behind me WAY back, I noticed a car with foglamps closing on my position at a brisk rate. As is got closer, I managed to identify the thing as an M3. Hehe. As he worked his way up to me, I punched it, and pulled around a few cars ahead of me to keep him about 30 yards behind me. I repeated this about 3 times before all the traffic just opened up and there was nothing but clean, clear freeway ahead (it was late at night). I watched intently on the rear view, and saw him break free of the cars, and lay the hammer down. I let him rush right up to about 10 yeards behind me before I went WOT. I felt the truck lift a bit, and away we went. I LOVE that feeling of having just as much power up top as down bottom. Well the M3 was already travelling at an alarming clip, so he races past my rear fender, eases past my door, and inches up my front fender...then STICKS. My headlight right in his passenger window, not budging. He and I both had those cars maxed out. He wasn't backing off, and there was no way on God's green earth I was backing off...so...one thing led to another and I realized I had pegged my speedometer. My gonads were in my armpits, and all I could think was, "your truck will be impounded, and you'll go to jail for this. Losing your lisence is the least of your worries." So I finally chickened out, and backed off. I gave him a few flashes with the brights. That is the fastest BY FAR that I've every travelled in a car before. It was terrifying. I'm glad I got me some higher gears, so I can trade some of that for bottom end. I had no idea these trucks were THAT fast. Somehow, the number 150 just doesn't convey how fast that really is!

I believe the upcoming M3s will leave a Lightning in the dust.

Came up behind one of those new Lincoln LS whatever they are. He was in the left lane going about 80. I pulled up next to him and he didn't want to be passed sooooo. WOT, we had to let off at 130 but he stayed right there. I wonder if he knew what he was racing. He looked over a couple of times like, what kind of truck is that? Great sport, eh what. I wonder what the top end of those things are? Didn't get a chance to find out.

Great Kill!! I love M3's, and have driven one owned by a friend. It has the Dinan chip, and is real quick. I tried to goad an M3 into a race, but he would not bite. Most magazine's had the M3 at 5.4 0-60 which is very swift for the horsepower.
