traction bars for towing

which bars would work best for the frequent drag strip use and occasional towing duties? I was thinking maybe the Metco track link style but really like the simplicity of the long bars. I've asked this a couple times and searched, can't find much or any info. any input appreciated. pros and cons of each for towing purposes. thanks.

I've been mulling this thought over too,

Do I spend the big bucks on the JLP or PSP bars?

Or are the Truck Trac slapper bars going to be enough to do the job?

Or do I cheap out and simply go for the Lakewood setup?

I only have minor mods (intake, exhaust, chip) but with the new slicks, some safety requirements ($$$ driveshafts) are definatly required.

i've asked this about 4 times on different forums over the last year and no one has given me any kind of worthwhile feedback. I guess no one knows?Oh well. Guess I'll call some vendors.

I have the Rancho 58 inch traction bars, and in my opinion they are the best traction bars for the drag strip. When I used to have a SVT Focus I towed it 300 miles and never knew it was back there.

thanks. what i'm gathering is it doesn't really matter about towing or bars may even help stabalize and stiffen the suspension for towing. anyway, i bit the bullet and got the Metcos figuring their adjustability might be nice, so we'll see how it goes.

You should be fine. The only bars that might be problematic are slappers, because they might be resting on the springs when loaded down.

I recommend helper airbags. They massively improve the load-carrying capability.

right tim, i ruled the slappers out. since mine is an 03 the extra rear spring rating is perfect for what i tow so i am good to go. if it sagged more i'd definitely put some air bags under there.

Ok..thats one of the reasons I held off on traction bars due to the fact that I tow my 3000lb boat. But from what yall are sayin....I guess if I went ahead and got the JLP bars i wanted then I would be fine.
