Mounting Autometer Gauges

I want to mount a tranny temp gauge but I don't want the A-pillar pod. Does anyone know where I can get one of these instrument cluster pod mounting overlays?

http://www.rpmoutlet.com/propodsi3.htm

Also, if anyone has pics of the steering column pod mounting piece installed, I'd be interested to see them. Thanks in advance.

Steering column pod from Jegs or Summit.

After looking into it further, I've decided I don't like the steering column piece. I think I may be forced into pillar pods after all. If I was to get a single pillar pod, could I still retain my stock handle that's on the pillar?

You can always get "surfboard" replacement for gauges.

I'm not familiar with what you're referring to. What's the surfboard replacement?

Did you get your pillar pod from Autometer? Any pics of the install?

I remember your dash w/ the 3 gauge fab job, the overall results came out great.

Neal,

Wow, that looks absolutely amazing! I don't really think I'm capable of performing that type of plastic work, nor do I think it would be appropriate in a 4x4 Supercrew. By the way, sorry for taking up space in the Lightning forum, but I figured you guys would be the ones to ask about adding aftermarket gauges. In any case, that setup is very impressive. I'm sure it looks very trick in your L.

HI!... It's not in a LIGHTNING, it in a reg-cab, short-box, stepside with a built 5.4.

side note- The surfboard pod is an oval panel on top of the L's dash to the right of the factory gauge cluster, a member did a custom gauge pod with this removable panel and now offer them for sale, I believe it was 2 gauges and Tampa svt offers them.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I'll do some more research and see if I can find some pics of one installed.

Neal,

My mistake, your truck looks like an L in your sig. By the looks of your motor, you may as well just call it a Lightning . . . perhaps even a Lightning killer?

I have seen one of those "surfboards" forsale on ebay. It still needed final finish and painting. The guy that was selling them also would include directions on how to finish it.
