Question Lightning Question...

I was on blueovalnews.com reading about the Ford Lightning and came across something that kind of suprised me. And I am hoping a current owner could shed some light on the subject for me.

The quote is: "The 1999.5 model has a $5,070 price tag for those "unscheduled repairs"."

What are these unsceduled repairs? And, why are they so much.

Thanks,

-ftlee

Have you ever heard the old line "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear"? BON is a good rumor mill, some truths but more rumor. Take it with a grain of salt.......

I do not know if this is what you are talking about but all manufactures build into the cost of all units a repair cost during the warranty period. I know that Ford builds into most of their units $1,000.00. Ford may have build into the Lightning $5,000 for repairs because it is such a special unit.

I kept my 93 L for six years and put 157000 miles on it. I spent less in unschedled maintenance than the 100K extended warranty would have cost. I did; however, do my own brake jobs after ford did the first three I did the next six.tt pads, ft pads & capipers,ft pads, ft pads & capipers, ft pads.................
