Big Boost?

Who is running 20 or more either with a KB or Whipple on a daily driver? Is there a issue with stock gaskets running at these levels?

I drive mine around on my 20psi setup all the time. In normal around town driving, I'm only hitting 5psi or so pulling from a stop.. There is no reason a 20psi truck can't be driven every day.

I have been at 20 PSI for about 2 years now.

Gaskets are 6 years old.

I was running up to 25lbs through my mag, unfortunately a valve broke a few
thousand miles later so I never got long term results, however Jim did tell me I was already losing a head gasket when the motor was taking apart.
(The Boost +150 HP of Nitrous may have played in my failure though)

ONE THING YOU MUST REMEMBER
You must get it OUT OF THE HEADS AND EXHAUST. Thats where I totally screwed up on motor #1. Now I have oversized Valves, a differant angle on the Valve Ports, their ported large enough to pass a small farm animal through, and with the same pulley combo I see a lot less boost.

What heads are you using, and exactly what Pulley combo do you have in mind ???

I run a 10" lower with a 2.8 upper on my KB on a semi DD basis. I really have found running the 2.8 upper is almost pointless on the street so i end with the 3.25 upper. But to answer your Q 3k miles on my truck at 18lbs and sometimes even a 50 shot with no problems yet except a slight tranny leak but thats irevelant to boost more to the power.

You got to have the Slowest"Built Block" Lightning in the world!
