I went to my tuner today to get my race tune done. I ended up with 623.67 RWHP and 639.81 RWTQ. This was at 16 PSI of boost, 16.5* of timing, A/F was 12.0, and peak power was at 5500 RPM's. I used straight 103 Octane VP Racing fuel for this tune.

On the street side I kept it conservative. 590.15 RWHP and 621.23 RWTQ. This was also at 16 PSI of boost, 12.5* of timing, A/F was at 12.0, and peak power was also at 5500 RPM's.

I am going to go to the track on Sunday to put my new race tune to the test. Wish me luck...

I found a guy near me that sells VP 109 Unleaded Race Fuel. Have any of you guys used it before? Experience? Also, are there any adverse affects from using 109 octane fuel when my race tune was done using 103?

 

No fuel expert so take this for what its worth.

I have been mixing 93/110 leaded(local station has a 110 pump) for the past 3 years(>200gallons).
All my o2's are still working great including my wideband. Not sure about the condition of my cats though. You might not even have cats. I use this mixture for my 20 degree race tune at the track.



The slower burn of the 109 will cost you power (very little) but prevent detonation compared to the 103.

 

The only reason I got the 109 is because it's the only unleaded stuff that's close to me. I could drive an extra 20 miles and get some 103 for $1.00 less a gallon, but it's not worth it to me. I will just leave a little 93 in the tank when I dump in the 109.
