Thumbs up Now you understand

I've had my 00 L for a week. My wife has not been able to figure out my obsession with this truck. Tonight the wife and I were coming back from dinner when I decided it was time to show her what the big deal is. Nice open road and no cars in site. From about a 5 mile an hour roll I jumped on the gas. At 120 I backed off and looked over. She had a big smile on her face and all she could say was "my God, this thing is fast".

Now you understand why it's called a Lightning!

I like your style.....

Yeah ive tried that one... "I really do like your truck"

But i still get the "I really dont understand" When she sees me writing the loan payment check.

Oh well... Some people will never understand.

And some of us live and breathe it.

Cool

Going down Plano Parkway last night with the little woman when a silver Cobra pulls up on my right at a red light. He rolls his window down (Signal-air conditioner off). He takes off, I keep my front bumper by his window. He punches it and I spool up the supercharger and my wife starts flogging me and yelling that I'm going to get a ticket. Between the assault going on in the cab and the Cobra trying to pull over in my lane, I decided to back off. Probably thinks he can waste a Lightning now anytime he wants. Pity the fool when he comes up against an "L" driver that doesn't have to worry about getting his PP spanked everytime he mashes the gas.

Sixpipes,

You're right on the money with that one! I had the same thing happen to me... so true, so true. LOL.

To borrow a Harley expression: For those that understand no explanation is necessary. For those that don’t, no explanation is possible.

TampaBay – I wouldn’t recommend doing the speed thing over the bridge. If you would like I can email you the nice little spot I use to stretch the legs on the L.

Thumbs up

My new G/f understand my L completely, one ride and she was hooked. A little full tilt run from 0 to 80 and she was like.. ohhh... that's better than a roller coaster... can we do it again?

And no.. she doesn't have any decent looking sisters...

Hwi: If I had pulled that stunt with My wife, I'd have probably crashed from having to duck away from the flailing arms while grabbing on to something to keep me from being pulled over as my wife sucked all of the oxygen out of the air just before the screeching screems of terror which surely would have followed.

(Damn, I'd love to go for a ride in one!)
