Post Superchips Update

Fact or fiction I do not know.

I was told yesterday that the boost loss during shifts has nothing to do with the chip.It is a program in the ecm. They also explained how to bypass the wastegate to keep boost during all times by messing with vacume hoses.I dont know exactly,I wont be messing with mine in fear of popping the S/C or motor .My program allowed 5600 shift points.Their newest is only 5400.This seems a little fishy to me.I still think when shifting at 5600 it bumps the rev limiter, which causes a fail-safe mode.who knows anymore. All you can do is spen$450 and hope you get a good chip.

Thumbs up

Hi Quick,

I don't have any input to this topic. However, I do want to commend you on 'turning around and walking away' from a certain [person] reguarding the ET vs. truck weight issue. That took a lot of restraint on your part. Glad to have you around!

Later,
Jake...

All I can add is that there is no flat spot with Sal's chip. You step on the throttle and there is a steady (awesome) acceleration from 0 to 140. No burbles, no surges, no flat spots - nothing but acceleration. If I remember correctly, I received my chip about March of this year so whatever program it has is just right for my vehicle.

I just got off the phone with you know who at superchips, what an A hole! That company totally sux, I never ever do business with a company that acts that way, especially one that needs to exude confidence to it's customers. Clueless at best.

After that I spoke to Sal, wow completely different experience. <happy face here> I know the guy is hard to get a hold of but well worth the wait. Great guy, super great guy, even his wife tried to help me out. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for his products.

I must of asked 30 questions and my impression was that he was more excided answering them then I could ask them.

We are lucky to know this guy.

That's strange. I have talked to "you know who at superchips" many times and have e-mail him also a number of times and found him veeeer informative and helpful. His e-mails to my questions are amazing. I can't believe someone takes that much time typing the info. that I have received from him.

I know who you mean(Mike troyer)
He is very helpful and informative ,I agree 100%.I do however think what we are speaking of is not to do with Mike at all rather SUPERCHIPS itself.I still to this date think(THEY) have alot to learn. They also dont seem to have any answeres just excuses.I did feel yesterday that they were being strait to me.Probally cause they know My superchip is gone and i'll be needing another chip soon for my 2000.Im still not sure which one Im gonna get yet.I would like to say,Mike Troyer is trying his best.Ive have got alot of useful info from him and he is willing to stay on the phone as long as it takes to get things strait.Boy can he type fast too!

I wanted to add my 2 cents in regard to Superchips. I purchased their chip (directly from them) last Oct and used it without problems. In Feb, I sent it in for a reburn (new gears). I was told 5 working days. During the course of the next 6 weeks I made several phone calls. Frequently got put on hold, lost in voicemail etc. When I reached someone I was told that I would be called back...the calls never came. I got a bunch of "I don't knows" and empty promises. My feeling was that no one was answering the phones, and that sales had no clue what the engineers where doing. I finally gave up and bought Sal's chip which is awesume. Six weeks after it was promised the Superchip arrived unannounced. In my opinion the performance is not nearly as strong as Sal's on my truck. Maybe something is wrong with it, but I am scared to send it back to them. I don't want to go through all that again. Superchips seemed to have too much business and their own employees seemed frustrated by their inabilty to provide answers. Harsh but true story.

I bought my Superchip through Mike Troyer also, but when a reburn was needed I talked straight with Superchips. I let them know where it was bought and went from there. Ihave never had a prob. with Mike or anyone else at Superchips. Whenever the chip was sent in, I had it back within 3 business days! Although there are still some hidden parameters that have not been found, I believe Superchips has turned out a GREAT product.
