Naw, those of us that still love the Lightning for what it is will be around "till death do us part". Just like the Gen 1 guys, life goes on but we still drive our trucks. They just go from a love afair to a money pit, sound familiar ladies, to a garage queen, princes, pawn. As long as HALO is alive the Lightning will survive. 2006 All Lightning Truck Show is this weekend at Tomball Ford in Tomball, TX our 4th annual show.

I had that mod before the truck arrived haha. Had to get sals filter kit used as he was back ordered at the time. Getting any go faster parts new or used was tough back in 2000.

we have come a long way. I miss the old regulars though like sixpipes.
Guys like Sixpipes are still around - But like was mentioned they hang arounud the local forums more. partially because of the change in demographic that occurred here. Sixpipes and his brothers won like 6 or 8 lightnings between them so they are definately still involved. Work, life and other things just get in the way

I also hve one of Sals 80mm welded filters - back in early 2000 it was the ONLY filter available and took like 3 months to get. I figure it will be a collectors item eventually maybe need to call the smithsonian ;-)

It is amazing how fast the years have gone... Even though I don't post too much, I have been here just about everyday since before I even registered on the site...

I remember going to the fist JDM day at E-Town and having a blast - both at the track and at the dinner afterwards... I remember being at Cecil when Spiro made what I believe was the first 11.xx pass with a Lightning... I remember meeting so many new people just because of being in the Lightning community...

And to talk about historic parts, I guess I have some as well... I have Spiro's Cervinis cowl hood currently installed, as well as Totaled's (Jim Walls) SVO single blade throttle body... Hell, even the 01+ 20" chrome replica wheels that I have were once owned by both DL and Eric Eldreth...

Ah... The good old days...

We're all just noobs, bro ...

I remember meeting Sal at the NMRA Nationals in Bowling Green along
with Terry (Beefie), and having a great old time. Met Sue and Johnny
that weekend too. LightningFestOne was a total blast even though I
broke out on the first round. The On-Track there was AWESOME.

Learning everything we can from everyone that knew a little more
than we did ... I remember calling Brandon (Crazyone) after struggling
with my first spark plug change for 5 hours and getting three done and
he finished them up in 45 minutes. < jeez! >

I think Christine will love her new stable mate, but she is pissed
about being relegated to a tow truck finally.

All in all, you guys have helped all the newbies as they came through
the door, and my hat's off to everyone. Thanks to each and everyone.

Cliff

I've been around for a while too, and don't post much, but remember a dinner with Jim D, Shawn, Paul Gamino, Doug, Sixpipes, and SOs. A long time ago.

Also, had a few good races with Mr Gamino, but only beat him once I think.

I gotta say i got my 2000 4 months after i turned 16. #235. Beautiful truck and i miss it a lot. I still have my dream of finding it once again and restoring it to how i had it. The trucks interior was so well kept people asked me if the truck was new after 3 years. I am now 22 and about to graduate from UCF in a few weeks.
The truck definately left me some great memories throughout high school, specially beating up on some vettes and porsches in s. fl back then.

Sold it back in august of 03. I MISS IT and get all warm and fuzzy when i see one out on the road.

Remember that drama from like 01 where that kid from Cali had an L and him and his friends blew it up. His parents paid for a built motor and everyone would rip into him constantly. What was that kids name and is he still around?
