AZ Lightning Tour Report
What a hoot!! We had nine Lightnings in all by the end of the Saturday. All 4 colors were represented, and several hundred miles were covered. Yoda and I had to depart Saturday night and head back to Phoenix after dinner in beautiful Sedona, and I haven’t heard how the Sunday drive worked out. I hope all was well. I’ve selected the best of my digital pics and will be posting them tomorrow at a new zing.com album (long story as to why they not there now).
I had an excellent time meeting everyone and I’m looking forward to a fall tour.

I bet that was fun. I would have gone, but I was worried about my finals. I should have gone though, looks like I will be taking the same classes again this summer anyways... Pencil me in for this fall, unless it conflicts with the Silver State Classic... Can't wait to see the pics!

And then there were the priceless moments:
1) Turning the corner at 50ish on a 30 up to Yarnell, 2 abreast in a tight pack and seeing the look on the DPS officer's face...had to be there...immediate brake lights and radio chatter...
2) The mystery Lightnings, the first one at the Denny's with the custom wheels who was either brain dead and didn't see the other 8 lightnings parked as he drove by...or thought we were carjackers as we tried to flag him down.
The second on the way to Yarnell, black and unknown to us who it was...
3) Down from Yarnell: The guy in the rental car passenger seat, head swiveling like a tomato on a stick, as we all passed at a healthy pace one after the other at, ummm, speeds that were triple digit-ish. Don't even think about flaming or chiding us, we had MILES of clear flat road in front of us.
4) "I have to go back, I lost my hat..." ask Zonaman about this...
5) Finding YLDRYD in the bar at Jerome by pure chance...
6) Discussions about:
Sal: "How long you been waiting?...it's worth it...",
How much Ray-LightningQuick-BADASSSVT has (don't take this the wrong way) grown...
Now you had the chip and Sal's filter, or was it just the filter waiting on the chip or SuperChip and cool headlight bulbs, etc.
ChristyAnn, real or fiction?
6) Meeting all of the guys and trying to remember our real names...as well as understanding just what a piece of work this truck is!
7) But the best of all was all the work Peter "gee, 768 pictures left in the camera" B did to get us signed up, routed, and organized, hats off to you Peter.
I look forward to the fall tour and that road Zonaman says has over 100 curves in it.
P.S. Another $450 down the drain as my Valentine 1 will be here tomorrow. Zonaman post some pictures on your stealthy installation please.

I did get my hat (its amazing how quickly you can turn a Lightning around in the width of a road with a little dap on the pedal.
The road with 100 curves is acutally a road with curves for 126 Miles! The infamous 666 highway in eastern AZ.
