Andre,

It was a pleasure to meet you, and actually you and Wyldman are probably the only ones on this board who have met me in person.

The thing about FFW is...it is HUGE. No less than 600+ race cars. Heck, the True Street 5.0 Shootout had 105 cars just by itself. If you want to practice, and get the most runs in, I'd run a bracket class. No doubt about it. Top Truck and Mod Motor are nothing more than glorified bracket classes anyway. Comp. Eliminator style racing which, as you found out, means you qualify one day and then get a .100 second "fudge" during eliminations. It's also run on a Pro Tree which makes things much different if you're not used to it.

Still, its a bracket race IMO if both vehicles don't take off at the same time.

Wish your truck had run better, but let me be one to say this about you and Chuck; many of us really appreciate you two (and several others here) being the "guinea pigs" with these things and have the intestinal fortitude to try different/new things. I've been there with both my Mustangs, and while its fun to succeed, when you fail a lot of times there's not a lot of tech support anywhere to be found.

Hope you get everything sorted out soon, and again it was a pleasure to meet up with you!

Thumbs down Fun Ford Weekend

Well its not fun, wasn't great either. Poor scheduling, management, and format. Only made 3 passes on Saturday and all were considered qualifing passes. No practice runs to get setup at all for the Top Truck Class. If you are registered in this class, change it. Get in the Mod Motor or the bracket classes. You will at least get some practice in each day and can setup your truck so it is consistent. On Sunday again no passes just straight into elimination rounds. Did terrible both days and Oh yes Red Lighted in the first round on the "Pro Tree" another reason not to enter Top Truck. Hope other's have better luck and more fun than I did. It was hot, and very long days. A lot of hurry up and wait. Did get to meet Wes, which was the highlight of the weekend. Don't hold that against me if you know him better than I, but I did enjoy the conversation and the use of their pit area. Thanks Wes!
