Post Metro Detroiter Beware, Fox 2 and Goverment are out to get your car...

I was watching the News (Fox *uck you 2), and they had a special on street racing, they have pressured the government to begin drafting a law allowing the police to seize your car if you are involved in “Street Racing”. Fox 2 claims that there are currently no laws that forbid street racing, this I believe to be incorrect. I don’t endorse street racing, but what is it, I can’t define it, will it be the donut-eating cop, will it be the crocked Judges, who will define what street racing? This will not be used in the best interest of the people, you were going 10 over, that is Street racing, give me your car.
You and that Mustang left the line to hard, that is street racing, both of you give me your cars…
Just ranting, give the government more power, give the government more power, and let them invade everyone’s life…

Well, here in my county, I have gotten tickets for "street racing" in the past. The reason written on the ticket was called "Speed Contest". I would have to assume that each county would have thier own laws.

I believe there is a contest of speed law here in Michigan, a bad ticket, 9 point or something like that.

They want to give the cops the right to seize you vehicle on the spot, for "being involved in street raceing". What does involved mean anywhy?

If the average monkey, I mean cop where to try to confiscate a street racer's car, I can imagine every normal person thinking that they fit this category and run like hell.

Every stop would be an episode of Cops.

This government has to be stopped! We rule this country the last time I checked, or am I wrong?

Do I detect some burgeoning Libertarians here? If y'all believe that hogwash that we live in the Land of the Free you are sadly deluded. Where in the constitution does it say that the government can tell me what chemicals I can or cannot ingest, and confiscate my property and send me to jail for long periods for using and trafficing in unapproved chemicals, even though they sanction, through subsidies and taxation, the use of some of the most deadly chemicals known, ie. alcohol and tobacco. And the fact that they tell me I can only buy a clip that holds 10 rounds for my Glock clearly contravenes the Bill of Rights. I could go on and on about how the government abrogates our most basic rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. 'Scuse me, now, I have to go take my meds.

Careful fellow Libertarians, we don't want to raise the ire of the minivan bunch and the donut rangers. This subject was broached a while back on a similar law in New York. Fine law abiding citizens(cough cough b*llsh1t cough) all know if you obey these laws that are here to protect us you will never have too...aww f*ck it, when was the last time you saw a squad car that could run in the 140-150MPH range? Come get some!
