I'm the network admin for my company, we have 137 users with outlook email and not ONE damn case of this yet. I was so bummed. I upgraded our CAI database yesterday morning to cover luvbug, so I was hoping to trap a couple messages, but no luck. Yes CAI Innoculan w/ exchange plug in will find and trap this and all other know virii. I finally found the source code out on the interent so I could play with the code. It is interesting, nothing overly complicated, I manipulated it to do some other things and then infected my test machine (the one not on our network).

Sometimes I miss all the good stuff.... and everyone around me thinks I'm nutz to like to play with virii, but then again, isn't this craziness why I own a 13 second truck?

Anyway.. back to my boring day.

These types of situations is what makes all of our jobs so much fun! The funniest thing is seeing how end users have no clue what it takes to battle this stuff.

Questions like "I got a voice message saying the email server is down, but I still can't get any of my mail" Hello people, c'mon???

Its sad to see how vacant common sense is in some people's minds.

 

Spending 2 weeks in Europe allowed me the priveledge of struggling against the Virus for 7 Hours before the Dallas Main office woke up. Then I had to convince them that this was a real problem. I opened a copy of the VBS file in notepad and pasted the contents in an email so the powers that be could see the text and what it could do.

Taking the weekend off and driving to Holland / Amsterdam to relax...
