Hello Lightning fans, in case someone in California is looking for one, there is a new 2000 black Lightning available in Bakersfield CA. My dad works at the dealer, so he gave me all the details. The guy who ordered had to back out due to a divorce. This is the sixth and final Lightning for this dealer, no more until 2001. The only reason I'm bothering to post is because I know how hard it is to find one. Most are spoken for long before the dealer even gets them. Freezer, the demand for Lightnings is really interesting. I am here on the East coast in Maryland and have a Dealer across the street from work who has:

1. Black 2000 - been on the front lot for almost a week at $500 below MSRP.
2. Red 2000 - been on secluded storage lot for several days all covered with dirt from being transported.
3. Red 1999 - 2000 miles and very clean. Asking about $30K. Been on sale for about a month or so. Prominently displayed.

This is in a suburb of Washington DC, in one of the richest counties in the USA. Ford Dealership supposedly the biggest in the Washington area. Has four stores.

Go figure.

 

High performance cars & trucks have always seen above average demand in California. Maybe its because they have lots of big highways and sunny days.
