Finally, Mods!!!!!!!!!
I just got my Superchip, Airaid filter kit, and full Bassani exhaust put on today. I love the sound and extra performance. I have a few questions though. First, the service engine soon light is on now and I can't get it off. Also, after driving the truck hard for about 10 minutes the truck started to sputter at a light and stall. That only happened once though. Also, is it normal for a new exhaust to be emitting kind of a burning odor at first because I've smelled that in the cab and it seems to be the exhaust or header. What do you think is causing these problems, the chip, filter or exhaust? What should I do, I'm reluctant to take the truck to the dealer. Also, does it take a while to break in the chip before maximum performance is reached? Thanks for your help again.
I can't even remotely help on your questions,sorry,but I have a question for you. Where in the "Steel City" are you located? I live in Canonsburg and I have seen three other L's around but none of them are on this board.So as a result I am a lone wolf,not that I like running w/ the pack but it would be nice to roll w/ other L's to Carlisle ect.
Good luck w/ the mods,

Finally Mods - I had an experience similar to yours when I put my chip in my last truck. I didn't get the check engine light but the sputter and die part was a problem. Here's what I did to fix it -
* remove the chip, recleaned the computer
board connection,
* used WD-40 and a Q-tip to clean the
connection,
* filled slot on chip with WD-40 and let it
set for about 10 minutes,
* dump out the WD-40 and use canned air to
dry
* reinstalled chip. noticed that there
was a fairly large gap between the back of
the chip and the computer case. put a
piece of stiff foam in the space to make
sure it stayed level after I applied the
tape used to hold the chip in place
* reinstalled the computer
A friend of mine sells chips and told me that 99.9% of the time problems like I had and you are describing are caused by a bad connection between the chip and the computer.
Hope this helps.

Finally Mods - One other thing that I just remembered, at one time, as recently as this past December, Superchip and *SOME* Ford computers didn't play well together. As I recall you had to send the computer to them and they could fix it by adding a jumper. This was done using overnight shipping. Or they could tell you how to do it yourself if you were good at doing that kind of thing. At least that is what the instructions included with mine said. Don't know if this applies or not, just a tid bit from the recent past.
By the way, new exhaust systems usually stink (oil coatings on the tubing and muffler). My last one was so bad I din't put it in the garage for 3 days after it was installed.

Someone light a match--
I have the full Bassani kit and yes it smelled bad. I think it took about 7-10 good heat cycles, to get rid of it.
I never had a check eng. light after or before the kit. I use a PSP chip and it has not trigered a check light.
You might want to check to make sure all your sensors are pluged in REAL good. The O2 on the passenger side is a mother to get in,
or was it the driver side? (too long ago).
