Post GMC 6000 325hp revealed

Just saw a write up on MSN about new SUV's revealed at the auto show. I guess they just revealed the new Denali w/the 6000 series motor--325hp. So, is this the hot motor they plan on putting in a pickup? We all know one thing, the Chevy Thunder with over 400 hp cannot run with the Lightning, so I think GM will have to keep doing their homework.

there is an article about it in new motor trend. it's only avail in the C series AWD gmc Denali xcab super duper 40K truck. 1500 series truck w/ 3/4ton brakes, towing, tranny etc. even with 325 or 330hp (in article) it won't be a "performer", also has a surburban (yukon XL) denali trim.

Chevy is going to come back with the Big block but not a 454 but a 502 345 horse.

Great! Bring on another HP war like the late 60's! This time, I'm a Ford Man -- and ready!

The new motor is a 496. LS1 type intake ports, but the rest looks much like the older big blocks.

the 8.1 is only available in the hd 3/4 ton and up. so it will probably be as toss up between the 6.0 denali awd pickup, and the 5.3 reg cab short bed for bragging rights. you have to give it to gm for finding more hp in these engines. they keep upping the ante, which is good for all of us, no matter what brand you buy.

I remember back in 1993 when GM put the Corvette 275 HP LT-1 in the Camaro. Ford never dreamed that they would do that. But...it happened. It made the horsepower wars start over again!

Lots of fun!
