Exclamation Front End Clunk

Just finished repairing ford screw up and thought that I would tell you people about that washer that you are welding, on my lightning the washer is made on the bolt end of the though bolt, on the nut side it slips off so if your welding the bolt end of it you had better check and make sure that it will slip out[ I had to cut my off ]

Thanks for the additional info. How long was it before you noticed it was moving? I had the dealer put mine up on the lift to check this before I handed over the check yesterday. Mine hasn't moved yet but it only had 9 miles on it. I also talked with the service manager and showed him all of the info I have printed out from this site covering this problem (thanks to everyone for all of the great info posted here). He is calling SVT this morning and I will call him at lunch time. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to fix he just wanted to find out how they want him to do it.

I welded the bolt head washer yesterday and still have the same noise. Looks like I'll be greasing the steering stops again.

noticed it rite away but bought truck used 6000 milescorrect way to repair the hole is to install rod though the front mounting holes and locate washers that way to weld [have to remove control arm] that way you know that the pivot points are in the same plane.
