Question Best Gas to purchase for racing

What type of gas is the best for racing the Lightning ? 93 octane is available here in Chicago, any other fuel give you an edge.

Does anyone make it a point to get a certain brand ?

Also is the tank full or closed to empty to save weight ?

dorgun1,

I use Sunoco 104 unleaded at the track to prevent detonation. It also is kind to the cats and O2 sensors. BP also makes 104 unleaded that has worked pretty well for me. I have found that having about 3/4 of a tank of fuel gives me better launches and doesn't really slow me down that much.

Hope this helps....
