Question Airaid and PSP Filter Combined

I have the Airaid setup and was wondering whether I can use the Airaid Filter Kit together with the PSP Filter instead of the filter supplied with the Airaid.

Or must I use complete setup over the other?

I was thinking of using a Powerstack( the filter PSP is using) filter myself.
Silverbulletonorder posted a link back on 4-27-00 about this. They have several lengths and inlet diameters so I think that it wil work perfectly Try this:

This seems like it would be possible, but I don't know for sure. I don't have any hands-on time with either the Airaid or the PSP filter setup, because frankly I don't have the money to spend on one of those yet. But I'm hoping though that by the time Sal gets caught up and starts taking orders again...

Anyway, IF you can remove the K&N filter from inside the Airaid box, and IF you still have a inlet pipe left to mount an Autophysics filter, and IF the outer diameter of said pipe is (or is close to) one of the inlet inner diameters offered by the Autophysics filter... then it should only be a matter of choosing which model Autophysics filter, what length to get, and figuring out what needs to be done to mount the thing. But even so, that's a lot of IF's, and I probably even missed a few.

Just my take on things, please don't think of me as any sort of authority on these matters. If anyone does try this out though, I'd be interested in hearing the results.

I had asked this same question myself in an earlier post.

If you get it working John, let us know. I'm going to try to whenever I get my AirRaid filter, but I don't have it yet...its on order.

As long as the diam. is the same and the length is close it will work. I would like to see if it does anything for perfofmance.(1/4 mile or dyno)

Daniel,

You'll probably get to try it out first than me as I am still waiting to get my L.

I'm purchasing my aftermarket stuff already to prepare for the installs once I get my L.

Let me know if it turns out to be a possibility.

You can use the filter used in the PSP kit on the Airaid set up. An outside company was doing testing on the Airaid and found that the filter with the rubber end was resonating at high rpms, and disrupting the MAF signal. Switching to one of the filter I use eliminated that.

Are you sure the exact filter with PSP kit will fit the Airaid. Because from wht I can tell the Power stack with the PSP kit is much smaller than my K&N filter with the airaid. I would measure to be sure, but even if it doesnt fit I am sure they do make another size that fits. Sal, do you know if it was the exact filter that you offer? If so, just ignore my post.

The packing list of the Airaid Filter Kit shows a filter with the size of 3.5" x 9".
