I have a AirCharger (huge open element conical filter) unit that I don't use on my 98 Mustang GT because it lost power on a dyno with it installed.

Curious, I took it out of the box and it will mate up perfectly. Same bolt patter on the MAF. It rest on the old filter box mount and doesn't seem to need any support.

When I dyno my L, I will put that aircharger on and see if it make any difference. I'm waiting until I get some more miles on it and for the PSP Chip.

The K&N Aircharger part number is E-0945. I got this one used for $30, not a bad deal if it increases power since I don't use it on the Stang.

Sounds like a helluva deal. You said it rests on the box mount. If it's the element resting you should support it otherwise a hole will rub through. If it's not then you got a good bargain @ $30.

If it makes more power on the dyno, then I will leave it installed and make a support bracket for it to prevent a wear spot like you mentioned. I'm not going to run it on the L until I put it goes the dyno.

I have the same filter and a new MAF, it didn't do anything on the dyno. I'm now looking into the power surge filter.
