Eduacation needed please. Do these in dash system that replace the factory radio play CD's, FM radio, etc. at the same time you are using the GPS?
I don't think I would be happy looking at the map screen without some tunes for a long highway trip.

You can play and control your music while the map is up...some, like mine, will automatically lower the volume to give you spoken directions for your upcoming turns...

sorry I took so long to respond. You have 2 options that I know of. In metra you have a 99-5805, and in American Intl you have a fmk-552. They both work excellent although I went with the AI kit. I work at a stereo shop btw.

Pioneer AVIC-N2 w/XM Radio. Very happy with it. The maps need to be updated and Pioneer has promised an update soon. All major roadways are there just mostly newer subdivisions are missing and some highway exit numbers are inaccurate. I've added a rearview camera to mine and its great for seeing behind the L.

What about the Navigator console w/built-in GPS? I have seen them for sale on eBay from time to time.

I have a magellan 750nav plus, no disc swapping for maps, hard drive based, mounted it on the driveshaft bump through the plastic piece under the center dash.

I would sell it too, if you were interested!
