questions about the "flip chip"
If the chip has two different settings, and one is stock and one is performance, and say you go to the dealer for service and/or problems and the chip is set to "stock", will the service guys be able to tell that you have an aftermarket chip?
Thanks

Yes, the superchip tells the trucks computer to get its instructions(even stock ones) from it. You have to pull the battery and the chip to reset a code that the chip causes your computer to generate. Once you clear it the only way they can tell is if they take your comp apart and see the "cleaned" contacts where the chip plugs on.

So if I had a flipchip set to "stock" settings and took it to the dealer and they hooked it up to their computer they would still be able tell that I had an aftermarket chip?
Also, if I want to keep my warranty, I better not get a chip???

Best thing is to remove the chip if you are concerned. Either that or find a dealer you can work with. Bankston on 121 and Tollway seems to be tolerant of modifications, from what Sixpipes has said. I also worried about the chip and warranty but after running my L against Sixpipes on the dyno, there is no doubt - I am going for it. He makes a lot more power and holds it better on top end

Best to pull it before you have work done(doesn't hurt to make sure it's not the problem also) like he said unless it's someone you know you can work with. Unless it is the cause of the problem it doesn't void the warranty. The dealer can't void your factory warranty without Fords authorization, BUT they aren't obligated to work on it either. Simplest to yank the chip and reset codes. Gets to be a 10 min job once you've done it a couple times.
